i obviously knew that someone had to have the A and I was drawing to another K or J... but the pot was big.. so was I right to call the flop for one bet?

Well-played. Scream at UTG+2 for checking the turn, knowing you turned kings-up /images/graemlins/smile.gif

getting 12.5:1 a call is easy. Question should be, should you raise?

Absolutely. You have 5 outs to 2 pair (probably none are counterfeited since there aren't many other draws out), no need to worry about a set yet, and you have a backdoor flush draw. It's probably safe to say you have 6 outs when behind, and sometimes you are ahead.

Only reason I can see to raise is to fold something like QT.

You get 3-bet here very often though.

Before we all start sucking each others' [censored], I feel obligated to mention that if you respect UTG+2's raising standards it might be appropriate to discount your outs a little bit. You're drawing to running jacks if he has AK and dead to AA or KK....

heh, I wasn't advocating raising here, just clearing up what the original question should have been, since the call should be a no brainer given the pot size (no offense to the OP of course).

MUBS. Look at the whole picture, not just the scary part of it.

In trouble against 10 hands:
AA = 3 ways
KK = 1 way
AK = 6 ways

Drawing to 3 outs against 6 hands:
AJ = 6 ways

Drawing to 5 outs against 12 hands:
AQ = 12 ways

Ahead of 15 hands against a tight raiser:
QQ = 6 ways
JJ = 3 ways
TT = 6 ways

Another possible 14 hands where Hero is doing okay if villain is a slightly looser raiser:
QJs = 3 ways
99 = 6 ways
ATs = 3 ways
KTs = 2 ways
