View Full Version : Monitor question
I have just ordered a 19 inch TFT screen but the resolution is only 1280x1024 - do i need the 1600 if I want to multitable properly?
If anyone can answer asap it would be a big help as i could send it back for another (although they are much more expensive!!) - rather than spend £200 on this then find out i need the other.
Thanks in advance

I personally dont know but two people on the micro limit forum just told me 1600x1200 is as low as you can go.

1600x1200 is the perfect resolution, 2x2 tables with no overlap.
Anything less sucks and anything more is not enough more.
The 19inch tft will overlap? is it ok for 2 tables? if not then any recomendations or a 1600?? and prices?
cheers

Without 1600 you will have overlap even with 2 tables. I think 2 tabling is not bad at 1280. I got a 1600 and it's infinitely easier now.

the overlap with 2 tables isnt bad at all, and IMO wont affect EV. however, who knows if you will only be playing 2 tables....I use to only play 2, now am at 6, and this wouldnt be possible without the better monitor.
If you are buying this monitor solely to be able to multi table I would cancel the order. You will want a monitor that can handle 1600x1200 to be able to have 4 tables with no overlap. After playing on a CRT that could only handle 1200x1028 and getting tired of the overlap with 3 tables max, I bought a cheap (<$200) CRT that could handle 1600x1200 and soon found that it gave me a headache after a few hours of play. About a month ago I bought a Dell 2001FP on sale for a little over $400 and have had no regrets.

The tables at most sites (Party, Stars, etc.) are 800x600 pixels. This cannot be changed. So 2 tables side by side are 1600 wide, and one above another are 1200 high. Therefore, you need 1600x1200 for even just 2 tables without overlap.
