I think I'd do the opposite of what you did.

Firstly, I might fold preflop. But maybe I'm too tight.

Then, when facing the raise and push, I push all in myself. You have two overcards and the nut flush draw. You may be over 50% to win this thing. Plus you have great pot odds.

Given their actual hands, you were just over 48% to win after the flop.

It may be early but there's already considerable distance between you and the top two players. The flop is good for you - nut flush draw and two overs. I don't call that BS $40 lead in bet, I make a healthy raise right there. Then if you get played back, call. Worst case you're against a set but you have a monster draw. Best case you're up against top pair and weaker draws - like you were. I wish you hadn't posted the results so I could make sure I'm not being results-oriented, however...

I was a little suspicious of the smaller than usual raise preflop. I figured he could have an overpair.

I also assumed that QJ/AJ were possibilites.

It's a matter of wanting to risk everything on this huge draw or wait until a "safer" point later on.
