Just curious to see who's beating the new 30/60 tables over at party. If you could also provide insight into how you think you adjusted in comparison to 15/30 or whatever you played before. How it's different, is it tougher, more aggressive? Looser? Less fish/more fish and so on.

It follows the trend like every limit:

The shania gets fixed in one more situation. Turn-raise situations [figures are guessing]:

At 1/2 people didn't slowplay to the turn enough.

At 3/6 they did it too much.

5/10 they then semi-bluffed it too much.

15/30 they got it right.

30/60 they are fine tuning other streets. i.e. river bluff raises - going from never upwards, blind defense c/rs, flop blind leads.

With each one of these when the 'game' gets right, you lose profit. It doesn't matter if you get one donkey who raises the turn way to much and one player who never raises it, unless you spot them and adjust to them individual then you'll only break even.

This will happen at the next limit and the next limit etc.

I'm also not beating it because of my lovely tilt, not because of variance.

Following up on 1800's post, I do think it's the case that the "new" 30/60 players tend to put you to some tricker/tougher decisions after the flop, as compared with the 15/30 where the postflop play was hyperaggressive but really fairly predictable once you adjust for that. This is another reason btw why the 30/60 is a high variance game, and of course it's generally the case that once you get past small limit games your opponents' postflop play tends to improve alot faster than their preflop play. Still however the 30/60 game is very good from a sort of raw cash/volume profit perspective and a lot of 2+2ers are going to have a few extra presents under the Chrismahanukwanzaakah tree this year as a result of Party's decision to expand the game.

Not me, I just lost $300 in 6 hands. All I wanted to do was steal James blind and leave, instead he gets up instead of posting the BB.

winning more money at 30/60 has simply allowed me to lose more money at higher stakes NL games. /images/graemlins/mad.gif

If you are looking to beat 6-8 tables for 1BB/100, you probably don't want to move to 30/60.

If you are solid player who can attack/defend blinds well you might find it pretty profitable.

I had a -5BB swing like this last week, and quit the 30/60 game. I can't handle that kind of variance, this game must be rigged...

Truth be known, I believe that finally PP has developed an honest, straight-up game where good, solid players win and the donkbetting suck-out artists lose.

Hooray for PP!
