my goal this summer is to make $20,000 and if possible even more. my summer starts may 27th and ends august 25th. essentially 3 months. i plan on playing ALOT of live 8/16 at oceans and if/when i get my fake id, gonna hit up commerce 9/18 and possiblly the bike and hawaiian gardens simliar limits. also plan on continuing my usual online bonus whoring activities.

so is this a realistic proposition? on the surface, it doesn't seem easy but it doesn't seem all that unreasonable either.

Possibly, I have no clue about B&M play.

Wouldn't it be easier to play online tho?

Uh, what level are you playing and what is your winrate? That makes all the difference. It could be done at 3/6 and up if you put in a ton of hands, or it could be not too tough if you are playing 15/30.

We need a tad more info. Starting with: Are you a winning player? If so, what is your BB per hour or per 100 hands?

online, im just a low level bonus grinder. i play .5/1 and 1/2.

lets just take the online play out of the equation. is it possible to reach my goal playing strictly live 8/16

AND WHAT IS YOUR WIN RATE?

Based on your post, I'll assume no. Improve your game.

First assumption: You don't suck.

Second assumption: You can win 1BB/hour

Third assumption: You can put in a zillion hours without some irritated old [censored] asking the floor to card you, or ever getting caught by the rent-a-cop at the door.

Fourth assumption: You play every day of June, July and Aug for 14 hours a day, with the exception of two days to relax and unwind.

90 days x 14 hours a day x $16/hour = $20,160.

No problem.

Based on your posts regarding other players (TV) and their ability, I must assume you have set your goals too low. Why not shoot for $100,000. You are obviously very talented.

commerce is not as glamourous as you think

also why not just grind out the online games and slowly move up?

bm is gonna be very boring. VERY boring

Easy.

Play online. You aren't going to win 20 grand playing 8/16 live. Play 3/6 online and 4 table and you have a much much better chance.

3 months playing 9/18 live? i highly doubt you can make 20k doing that. i'd have a hard enough time multitabling 5/10 all summer and making that.

To the original poster - you know the answer to that question, my question is how could you possibly think anyone would care?

If you play 1/2 or .5/1 online do you have the BR to play 9/18?

Also - what makes you think you could beat the 9/18 which I can promise you is much tougher then party 1/2 or .5/1

I have no idea how the Vegas-casinos are, but B&M as general at the 8/16 you would need to play 14 hours a day as omebody else mentioned if you have a winrate of BB/hour, if you don't know your winrate don't expect it too be higher. Maybe you can grind it up to 1½ BB/hour you will only need to play 10 hours a day. I think this is possible given the games are regular easy BM games. But if you need days or hours off to be sure you wont risk a meltdown.

If you multitable 4 tables online 90 days and play 10 hours a day. you will need a winrate of 2BB/100 hands on limit 3/6$. You can achieve this given your game is good enough, however I think it may be easier in BM.

Good luck.

For live 9/18, in that given time, 3 months, you'd have to really be on a fantastic run of cards. 3 months to make basically 1000bbs.

The rake on the 9-18 Commerce game is ridiculous too. $4 drop, $1 jackpot, even if no flop is dealt. The crazy action makes up for it, but when the game gets even relatively tight it's not worth playing.

Get up to the 15-30 or 20-40 Commerce if you want to make that kind of dough.

I you have a real bankroll for 9-18, learn to play 5/10 short instead. The rakeback alone is probably going to compare to your win rate at 9/18.

This really is the best advice - try to use the summer to move up one or two limits, and then the goal is reachable. As far as ocean's 11 goes though, hit me up sometime - I plan on spending a lot of hours there myself.

The rake amount is true, however, if there is no flop, they only take $1. That is why chopping in this game is preferred.

I agree. I don't think we can really say that a player COULD NOT make this amount in a three-month span during a course of his lifetime, but for OP to aim for it in this specific summer, limit, and casino, with his experience, the odds are overwhelmingly against him.

Wow, even with no flop? That's harsh! Is that the drop for all the limits there?

You probably know your winrate better than the rest of us...
