This is a hand played by a friend of mine.
The game is 6handed and villain in this hand is player who seems to be solid, he is also very aggressive, possibly slightly over aggressive.
Hero is in the CO with AsKs.
UTG(villain raises), folds to hero, hero 3 bets, blinds fold, villain calls.

Flop: 7s Kd 4s
Villain checks, hero bets, villain raises, hero 3 bets, villain calls.

Turn: [7s Kd 4s] 9s
Villain checks, hero bets, villain raises, hero calls.

River:[7s Kd 4s 9s ]5h
Villain bets, hero raises, villain calls.

What do you think of this line? Is smooth calling the turn better than 3-betting?

The answer to this question depends on whether he is solid enough to fold a AK, KQ, KJ without a spade on the turn when smoothcalling the turn might yield another 2 bets that you wouldn't have got otherwise.

In a 6 handed aggressive high limit game, someone who has come this far with a big king is very unlikely to fold to a turn 3-bet.

If he is overaggressive, your friend is giving up 1-2 BB by not giving him the opportunity of capping the turn and calling a river raise with 77 or 44 or a lower flush.

I think its a pretty clear turn 3 bet.
