CO is 16/10/2, but hasn't been at the table very long.
BB is 58/3.4/.6.

Did I miss a good semi-bluffing opportunity anywhere?

How do you play the river?

With a double belly buster, runner runner flush, and maybe a clean overcard A, I think there's value to a c/r on the flop. It might buy you a free card on the turn as well if CO doesn't have anything. The river call is fine here as well.

It wont get you a free card as you are OOP.

The c/r is for value, not a free card. The hero has a ton of outs here.

Unless you go for a lot of trifectas.

My comment about the c/r not getting the free card was in response to the poster who suggested that it could be used to buy a free card.

In terms of c/r for value, a few points. First, the draw isn't that strong, and given the preflop 3-bet behind him, he doesnt have as many outs as you might think.

Second, in general I think it is pretty rare to be able to c/r for value on a draw. I'm not saying you can't do it, but the stars have to be pretty well aligned, like a 4-way pot, the nut flush draw, plus overcards.

Oh, it is most certainly a marginal c/r for value. But I still think the hero has 10 outs on average. 7 for the straight, 1.5 for the flush, and maybe 1.5 for the overcard. I guess the 9 outs could be somewhat tainted though.

I think Ed Miller overvalues backdoor str8s and flushes. The problem is that often the cards that set up a redraw for you (such as the T /images/graemlins/spade.gif in this example), could have you drawing dead. In a not-insignificant number of situations, your counting on a redraw will either have you drawing dead on the turn, or will have simultaneously created another redraw for a villain who can beat you on the river.
