Lately I've been multi-tabling on my laptop. It sucks because I can only view one complete table at a time, and I constantly have to toggle back and forth. I've seen picks of large monitors that completely show 4 tables at once. How big of a monitor do i need for that, and can anyone recommend a decent model that isn't too pricey?

Talk about overkill.

Definitely go with the 2001fp. Its top of the line.

I just ordered one last week (on sale for $500 ish) got it LOVE it. The problem is I want 2, and went to order the second one 3 days after the first....they are now $700+
anyone know when they will be on sale again. I tried to contact the company to see if they would extend the offer for a few days for me, and they never responded.

Thanks

I bought a second 2001FP last week when they went on sale. I have had it for 2 days and LOVE it. 8-tabling is such a breeze it is boring! I need a third one now to 12-table.

Some may say $500 is a waste, but I think it's worth that price if you are serious about your game.

$500 is a steal for the ability to efficiently 4 table.

You can "efficiently" 4-table on a 120 dollar CRT monitor.

you should have at least 19" and an monitor who can handle 1600x1200

if you dont want to drop 500 on a monitor, go with a flatscreen CRT 21" off ebay. i got 2 of them for about a hundred a piece. they are clunky and big but get the job done.

Any monitor with 1600 x 1200 or higher resolution will let you view 4 tables without overlap. And no, you don't need a $700+ LCD monitor to do this. They just look nicer. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Most cheap CRTs are running 1600x1200 at 60mHz. At that resolution/speed, the monitor has a noticeable flicker. Very hard on the eyes. LCDs do not flicker, and the image quality is substantially better.

Yeah, thats part of what I meant by looking nicer. I meant the image not just the flatscreen. Anyway, FWIW I just have a cheap CRT now and it works fine but I'm getting a couple of the 2001FP's in a month or two.

ebay auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5189287898&rd=1&sspage name=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1)

this is a monitor i recently purchased. i really dont understand all the specs but it looks like it refreshes 75-85hz/s. it can also go up to 1800x1440 but my second monitor cant go that high so i use it at 1600.

this monitor came to $90, is easy on the eyes and a great buy imo.

Guys,

I posted this a few weeks ago - thought it was relevant to this thread. Note: this is a 17" Flat Panel - not CRT. It is fine for 4 tabling but not super clear for general use at 1600x1200. Let me know what you think.

"I just went to Compusa and bought the Norwood Micro 17" LCD Monitor for $249.99 with tax. Check out this link - (http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=313561&pfp=hpf6). I can't believe it works at 1600x1200 but it does. The 19" model did not. Make sure it says Model# HD17A on the back. I am playing four tables on it right now. Had to change my display options in Windows under the Settings > Advanced > Monitor tab to NOT hide modes the monitor can't display. Awesome!!!!"
I have added a link so you can see a screen-shot of how the 4 tables look on the 17" monitor. No overlap!!

It really does work at 1600x1200. Check out the link http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=313561&pfp=hpf6 - it is a screen shot of my LCD. I went to CompUSA and they had about fifteen 17" and 15" monitors all showing the same image. I change the screen resolution to 1600x1200 and they all went blank except for 3. Two of those had a warning about that display mode on the screen. Only one (and it was the cheapest) displayed without any message. I asked to buy one and they went back and got me the same model (or so they said). When I looked at the box it was slightly different. There were speakers on the bottom. Mine did not have any. They said it would work the same. I said show me. They took it out of the box, hooked it up and it DID NOT work. Note: Neither did the 19" version??? So they said they were out of that exact model so I bought the display model. So far, so good. Like I said, make sure it says Model# HD17A on the back. However, I don't know if the model they tried to sell me that did not work says that or not. When I got home and hooked it up it did not give me the option of changing to the 1600 x 1200. I had to change my display options in Windows under the Settings > Advanced > Monitor tab to NOT hide modes the monitor can't display. If you order one make sure you can return it if it does not work. Let me know if it does. I changed my display font size to be a little larger and now it is awesome. I am 4 tabling all the time. Good Luck.

Tstone,

I do not think you can use the monitor as a TV. I only saw one Video connector for the CPU cable. Doesn't a TV input need a special jack?

What is the lowest monitor you have ever seen for a 1600x1200 resolution with like ~75 hz refreshment?
