Tight player bets out on the flop. Has played about 9 percent of his hands, have him down as a 9/6/1.5.

Easy fold.

This is a small pot. He has a J or the flush draw with probable overcards to your 8's. There are a large number of scare cards for you on the turn. I add that up and release this hand and don't think twice about it...

I fold 88 in this small pot everytime.

I don't know. I wouldn't be in this situation because I raise 88 from anywhere.

u better be sure of your read. the only reason i say this is last night i was in 5% of hands after 80 (cold decked)..anywhoo, fold if you're sure of your read, but you could try reraising (since you have the 8/images/graemlins/diamond.gif) and try for a free turn card and see the river.

Against this sort of player I'll fold.

Against a player I've seen habitually betting out from the blinds with any sort of piece I'll raise (though with players behind I'd often be more apt to fold, even in this case). If I was pretty sure it'd be heads up I'd raise, though it doesn't look like the case here.

I would fold, the pot is somewhat small.

Small pot here tells me to fold. Pretty simple. I often fold in tiny pots unless I'm fairly certain I'm going to win them.

Why risk a bunch of bets once you count action on the turn/river just to win a tiny pot.

I'm tight slightly passive but I drop this one on the flop I think.

Your position is bad. THe board is 2 suited and connected. There are two players to act after you. You say the bettor is tight with low aggresion, so he probably has a J at least.

Depending on how much you like to gamble and if the table is passive I might see if the turn brings an 8 or diamond. But I doubt I do it.

Say we make the pot 10sb's. What do u do now?

In the hand I folded.

If I had position and the pot was bigger, Id raise for a free card and to get it heads up. 2nd question...u get it heads up, get the free turn card, he bets the river...what do u do?

EDIT: also, I dont make it a habit to raise 88 from UTG...there is no point. Most pots at this limit raised or not will be at least 4-5 handed and your position sucks. Limp and see what happens. Raise 88 in LP or if its folded to u in MP (like everything in poker its situational, but those are the general guidlines I follow)
