I would have raised preflop to narrow the field and get a better idea of where you are at.

The only problem I was having with raising preflop, MP3 was reraising people all in and bullying, the tournament was still fairly early and didn't want to committ myself to Jacks.

How does one get "commited" to anything just for throwing in a 3-5BB raise? You get reraised, fold.

The fact is that you had a pretty good flop for your Jacks; only one over, a Queen. A raise might have - no, I'd say would have - had a lot less people seeing the flop. Then you toss in a 2/3 pot continuation bet and take the pot down.

If you get reraised at any point in this, fold.

If you limp with Jacks, you probably won't win without hitting a set. If you raise with Jacks, there's a lot of ways to win.

I get what you are saying, just trying to follow optimal strategy for PP $5' and $10's.

According to some

PRE-FLOP STRATEGY

LEVELS 1-3

EARLY POSITION (Seats 1-7), play only a pair or AK 1. With JJ or lower, limp in.

However it just seems to go against nature to limp...LOL..and I did.

that is weak man. if you raised, and he put you all in, and you have seen that kind of behavior. it's an easy push. kick that bitch ass to the curb.

yeah I know it's only 70/30 so you've got to find yourself a better spot

For the love of God, raise and then call the push.

Not willing to risk the whole tournament on pocket j's and not even get out of level 1...sorry. AA/KK/QQ different story.

WHAT??? It would be a problem if a rock reraised all-in. This is a dream scenario for the maniac bully to do this to you. They're POCKET JACKS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, NOT FREAKING DUCKS! DOUBLE UP!

Most of the advice you will get in this forum does not have as its primary objective to get you safely out of lvl 1.
This is a dream hand against an all-in bully.
