It really boggles my mind that this woman is famous. Let's take a look.

1) She's not hot.

2) She's not talented.

3) She's not successful in any areas of her life other than being a whore and mooching off her family's money.

Let's see: TV show, movies, releasing a CD...

These things all don't come with being born into a rich family. She obtained her goal of acquiring celebrity status. If you can't understand her business savvy (and that of her mngrs) you lack some business sense.

And how many of them were successful? I'm not saying she hasn't done anything, just that she hasn't done anything extremely successful.

Her movie has had a decent, although not exceptional, run at the box office, her show, although having run for 3 seasons, has never topped the ratings charts, and no one expects her CD to sell well (and if you've heard any of her singing, you can understand why).

There are lots of people who have been as successful as Paris Hilton, but don't desrve the fame that she's gotten.

Dude, what do you consider a successful career? She has built one for herself.

She is cast in several upcoming movies and has the female lead in one of them. She is releasing a CD, anything now is simple speculation. She was the lead in a successful TV show (does it need to be #1 for you to acknowledge it? Would you consider Chappelle successful? Who's show got better ratings?)

She also has a fragrance, a catch phrase, and probably other things I have no idea about (make up, clothes, etc).

You don't like her, that's fine. She is an INCREDIBLY successful "businesswoman."

That is irrelevant and speculative. What we DO know is that not everyone born into a rich family achieves her sort of success/fame. Two years ago her and Nicole Ritchie were in similar situations. Now...?

Her business savvy? First of all, it takes absolutely no talent of your own to become a celebirty these days. As long as you can somehow make national news, you are potentially marketable. Secondly, there is no doubt in my mind that her successes are the result of someone else's ability to exploit her overnight celebrity, and not her own.
I am absolutely amazed that you think this woman has ever demonstrated any sort of talent.

This is apples to oranges. Her name carried the show for 3 seasons. I think it has been approached for a 4th season as well.

After desperately searching for something to back up my argument, it would appear that you never did actually say that she was talented. My apologies. However, you did imply that her success is a result of her own doing. I disagree. Yes, it was her on that sex tape, but as far as I'm concerned, from that point on, her successes were handed to her, much like everything else, on a silver platter.

she gained her fame by being the rich guys daughter that had a sex tape "turn up" {translation - she leaked it} on the internet. She is moderately attractive (many think MUCH MORE, but that's nitpicking). Rich guys semi-attractive daughter shows up on sex tape = famous. That's it. There are THOUSANDS of semi-attractive chicks with sex tapes on the internet -- they are not famous/celbrities. She's a celeb because Daddy has $$$ and she was willing to "sell her soul" (for lack of a better phrase) with the sex tape. If you think that makes her successful then you can think that.. I just disagree.
