I usually check this...

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (9 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

MP3 (t580)
CO (t970)
Button (t1240)
SB (t1570)
Hero (t570)
UTG (t680)
UTG+1 (t715)
MP1 (t575)
MP2 (t1100)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A/images/graemlins/heart.gif, K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
UTG calls t50, 5 folds, Button calls t50, SB completes, Hero raises to t570 (All-In), UTG folds, Button folds, SB folds.

Final Pot: t720

Well PVS helped you out then, because checking is very wrong.

eh?

Wow, second time this week somebody has said to raise this out of the blinds...

You usually raise AK out of the blinds? I thought that was reserved for AA, KK and maybe QQ...please elaborate, somebody...

I was referring to PVS's thread on lvl 3 being the 'sweet spot' and taking down limped pots before the flop. Here i picked up t250 or so.

This isn't really a PVS...it's like....ridiculously standard.

Maybe if you were the SB here with like KTo it would be a PVS...

You didnt have enough chips to play poker if u raised, that's why a push is standard. At the earlier levels 1/2 u check and fold unless u flop monster. If u had 900 chips then most people advise checking. But with only 600 chips, pick up those free chips.

Well....yes, the master can play like that, /images/graemlins/wink.gif.

I don't want Degen to go completely broke attempting high level PVS...then he'd *never* be able to pay Irie back /images/graemlins/wink.gif /images/graemlins/wink.gif.

/images/graemlins/grin.gif yeh. 2OO in pot and you have 570 and AK. A PVS needs cards where you will be unhappy to be called?

Well everyone has said this is standard so I won't repeat it. I'll say you should be pushing all pairs and AT-AQ as well. I push even wider than that. Also with the same stacks I'd push AK on level 2 as well if there's one or two more limps, but not many others seem to make that play. In my set, pushing trash from the BB is called "pulling a Steve," but PVS has more ring to it. Pushing AK in that situation is called "SOP."
