Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 3/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif. Hero posts a blind of $2.
5 folds, Hero (poster) raises, 1 fold, SB 3-bets, 1 fold, Hero calls.

Flop: (7 SB) 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 9/images/graemlins/club.gif, J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players)
SB bets, Hero folds.

Final Pot: 4 BB

My hand sucks so [censored] much, should I just dump this pronto? It was 10-handed when I selected to post, somebody left right before the hand started.

Ha, yeah, I think you could justifiably fold that. I remember reading a Tommy Angelo story where he steal-raised, Ray Zee in the SB 3 bets, Tommy folds. He had 22.

I'd go ahead and take a look at the flop.

I wouldn't be very happy, though.

I'd like to see that game.

NO.

I'm sorry, you don't pass up any hand getting 6-1 in position preflop.

I think you need to fold to the 3bet, but I'd probably pay for a flop here as well.

No, you don't *need* to fold. You *need* to call. However I think folding is acceptable.

Note, if you folded, I wouldn't fault you for finding another table.

That means you should be limping in the button with any two cards after 5 players have limped, which is clearly false. And 2/4 being passive and all, that SB 3-bet means I'm behind quite a bit more than I would be with limping this on the button after 5. I'm not really arguing one way or the other, though.

I think this is a case where having money in the pot makes the call obligatory. In your example you simply don't have to play.

That doesn't change the fact that I am right.

I would see a flop.

by raising here, you were already committing yourself to seeing a flop

this is played fine.

Nice hand.

OTOH, how cool would you look if you called the flop bet & caught the runner runner straight to beat his aces?
