It's busted in half, and I'm going to Vegas in a couple weeks. Is the crazy airport security these days going to not let me on?

Better safe than sorry.

As a semi-pertinent piece of information, I go to a casino cruise ship sometimes, and they are bound by some of these federal security measures, and when my ID was close to falling apart, they let me on several times but told me as soon as it separated into 2 pieces I couldn't get on. I think you should get a new one.

Just tell them you sat on it while practicing on a flight simulator - you'll be fine.

How do all you people end up with IDs that are falling apart? Mine has been through the wash a couple of times and it's still perfect? What do you people do to them?

I got on a plane with an expired license once and I would have to assume that's technically worse than being broken in half. I had to go back to the counter, get a new high security ticket ensuring that I got padded down and had my bags thoroughly searched, but other than that no big deal.

I'm assumming that being carded in Vegas isn't a concern? My friend w/ an expired license got hassled by a few pit bosses for having a punched license, saying it "wasn't a valid form of ID"...... If it looks like it's been tampered with, then they are allowed to refuse it.

As soon as your drivers liscense becomes two pieces, it is no longer valid, for anything (including getting on a plane). You'll need a new one eventually, so might as well get it now.
