Villian is a rock. 16 vpip 2pfr. w$SD 57 He's a good, winning regular. I respect his play, he repects mine.

2/4

Limper in ep, I(450) have 10d9d and limp in mp, sb (360) completes, bb checks.

Flop: J Q 4 rainbow.

Sb bets pot (15). BB folds, ep folds, I call.

Turn: J

Sb checks, I bet 40

River: A

Sb check, I bet 100

I put villian on either KQ or AQ. At the time, I thought it was a pretty realistic looking bluff. Looking back at it, I'm having doubts. Good/bad bluff?

Well if you put him on AQ, he has top two, you just have to hope he believes you have a J.

You said he is a rock, which means he didn't call without a good hand after you bet the turn, and probably also is not still drawing to a straight with like KT after the board paired. You said he respected your play, which means he probably doesn't put you on having called his flop bet with middle pair. You took a stab on the turn and probably should have given it up on the river. My guess is he had AQ or a J himself.

I thought it was 55 % he had AQ (because of the lead on the flop) and 45 % he had KQ
