I have been trying to work on pushing short-handed edges (especially since I play at UB a lot). Is this play appropriate? I don't know much about the blinds except that they both have VPIP less than 30. Button is standard weak passive with calling station tendencies.

Betting and checking the river there when the K hits is close, but these guys seem to be likely to call with anything. Nice hand.

Thanks. Yeah, I thought about the river. There are now two overcards, but he could very likely be calling down with a smaller pair or any ace or queen. Do I fold to a raise on the river? I guess so without any reads to the contrary.

standard? although it wouldnt suprise me to see a blind take the pot with K5 or something lame.

Well, I am glad to hear that it is standard. I am just getting used to these plays, I guess they don't often occur to me or something.

looks fine. I think I'd fold to a raise on the river.

Is 9-handed considered short-handed? I think I'd tend to fold this preflop with another limper in. Is that wrong?

The OP meant he wanted to "go for a short-handed pot."

Depends on button/blinds/limper of course, but yes I like this from time to time.
