Here's how it all went down...
I was playing a 5$, 1 table tournament. We are down to six at level 3 with blinds at 25/50. I'm the small blind with pocket 4's. Everyone folds to me. I call, BB (chip leader) checks.

The pot is at $100. Flop comes down 8 8 8. I made a full house, but a shitty one. So I check, BB checks.

Turn come 4. Not much help to me, but it can't help BB much either. So I check figuring that if he has higher pairs or is chasing an A then he'll bet. As predicted he does, but the minimum, so I call.

There is $200 in the pot now. River comes 4. Miracle card for me. I have four 4's. So I slow play the guy who will surely never see my quads coming. He bets $200. I quickly raise all in with my remaining $500. He calls.

When the cards come up, he has K 8 giving him quad 8's to beat my quad 4's.

What is your take on this hand? Did I play this wrong or did I jus have some really bad luck.

That's just really bad luck.

Don't let it get to you.

The plan still works if you specify top quads.

bad luck and bad beat /images/graemlins/smile.gif .. i may have made the same mistake.. but i would rather play more passive at this point..unless i am extremely short stacked and then i might make a move or two
