San Diego Cardrooms

I posted this in the small stakes Hold-em forum (that's where I usually am) and then realized that it would be more appropriate here so I apologize for the duplication:

I will be going to San Diego in February for business and had a few questions about cardrooms there. I have only played in Vegas and Atlantic City:

1) Are there any near the "Gaslight" district near the Convention Center?

2) How late are they open? I will be working during the day.

3. Is it rake or seat charge? What is the rate/rake?

4. Anything I should be made aware of re: LLHE styles or local protocol?

San Diego is a nice town with ~ 2 million people, great beaches, tourist destinations, and a handful of casinos.
Indian casinos: Viejas, Sycuan, Barona(no poker), Pechanga (in Riverside).
Card rooms: Lucky Lady, Oceans 11.

No. The Gaslight is great for restaurants and nightclubs.

24 hours / 7 days a week.

"3. Is it rake or seat charge? What is the rate/rake?"
Typically 3-4 dollars per hand, taken from the blinds. Some have Jackpots available.

"4. Anything I should be made aware of re: LLHE styles or local protocol?"
LLHE: expect to beaten with J6 offsuit when you have pocket Aces.

I would recommend Oceans 11 in Oceanside, 30 miles north from downtown. Good games, smoke free, the best food and it is comped with 2 hours play.

Are there any closer to the city? Oceanside is a hike.

Lucky Lady is in San Diego, but it is a small card room with mostly low limit. Their address:

Sycuan recently expanded and has a nice poker room with doors to seperate it from the smoky slot machine area. It is about 30 - 45 minutes east from downtown. Oceanside is only a 30 - 45 minutes drive north from downtown. The city had several card rooms that have shut down over the years because the city did not want to renew their licenses. Consequently, the Indian casinos have been doing a thriving business.
