What would you do if you didn't know too much about your opponent in each of these?

All comments appreciated.

Hand 1: Need to call.

Hand 2: Read dependant, but the fold seems safe.

I would just call both of the raises. You are getting 9:1 on the first hand and 12:1 on the second. Don't fold with those odds.

im calling in hand 1...it seems so strange for him to go for a legit c/r on the river since you checked the turn, how would he know that you would bet? you would think that if he had something like 78 or K6 or better he would just bet out...

hand 2 i think you can fold, you have shown aggression the whole time and he went for a river c/r, i doubt you will ever see something that can't beat a second pair...

In hand 1, I would have bet out on the turn. Your check looks weak and may have set up his CR on the river. Plus you might have won it right there.

(Although I agree, I can't see how he knew you would bet the river.)

Hand 1 I'm calling everytime. Hand 2 I"m probably calling too, but I'd expect to lose there a bunch.

Hand #1.

I couldn't envision a hand that would know that I bet. So I called and the villian showed A/images/graemlins/spade.gif5/images/graemlins/spade.gif, and I won.

Hand #2.

I couldn't envision the river helping the villian, and I called.

I called and the villian showed A/images/graemlins/spade.gifK/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, and I won.

I guess the theme is, don't fold for one bet on the river in a big pot as being right costs you one bet, but being wrong costs you the whole pot.

Also, another theme is people will put the move on you on the river. Have to stand up for yourself.
