Im tired of MTV throwing in random Gay stuff in their shows. Im sorry, but I dont want to watch 2 dudes making out in the middle of the Real World or a dating show that throws in Gay guys every now and then.

And dont say Im homophobic, Im not scared of gay people, and Im not afraid Im gonna "turn gay" from watching it. I just dont want to watch dudes making out, any more than I want to watch ugly people make out.

Sorry Big Steve, I dont have a problem with your life style, I just dont want to watch you Mackin on a dude.

LOL. You must have just watched the same show on MTV that I did. The "next" show. Yeah, they always have gay people on that one. That one guy on the buss with the gel'd hair was extremely gay.

Is it possible to be extremely gay? I think there's pretty much one degree of gayness kinda like there's one degree of pregnancy. You're not gonna ask a guy if he's gay and have him respond "A little, but the dude I'm banging is really f'in gay"

Who knows. Maybe in twenty years, guys acting gay will be considered hot as women experiement with lesbianism. It could truly be all over the media.

Yes. Certain gay people do not act feminine at all. They don't run around with flashy clothing and high pitched laughs. Funny response, though.

Yes, there are degrees of gayness.

Even beyond the flamboyant personality / clothing / behaviour of some gay men compared to others.

My friend X is a little bit gay. He'll make out with guys, and has stuck it in a dude's pooper on occasion, but usually prefers women.

My friend Y on the other hand will only stick it in dude's poopers, and finds straight people making out a little bit icky (kind of the way 8 year old boys find kissing in movies icky like you totally don't understand WTF they are doing).

X is a little bit gay, Y is a lot gay.

Plus to OP, grow the **** up. The world, and even MTV's programming, doesn't revolve around what you want. Just man up and accept that sometimes you're not going to get what you want and that throwing a temper tantrum on OOT isn't going to change that.

I think you guys are confusing "acting gay" with being gay. There are certainly many gay people who act more feminine than others. This does not make them more or less gay, this only makes them more or less flamboyant about it.

True, but society attributes flamboyant and perky male behavior with being homosexual. And we're associating different degrees of this flamboyancy with different degrees of homosexuality. Obviously once you're boning dudes you are gay, and that is that.

Try reading my school newspaper, every article is on how people want to ban ROTC and military recruiters from our school because the military discriminates against gays which is against UCSB policy. Also, every other day is the ye old debate on feminism.

I could give a [censored] either way on the issues, I just wish they would shut the [censored] up and talk about something else for a change.

CDC, Klepton, and BreakEvenPlayer can elaborate for me if they wish...

It doesnt [censored] up my day, and Its not like Im watching Will and Grace and am like "why the hell are two dudes making out"

Im talking about a show like room raiders where the first half will be heterosexual and the second half will be homosexual. No I dont expect every show I watch to be aimed soley at me, but It seems like you would want to target one audience per show.

Also MTV doesnt try to represent the Real World. Otherwise they would have dating shows with fat girls, Star Wars fans, Racists, Paraplegics, and the Mentally Retarded.

Real World = 1 Jock, 1 Unstable, 1 Black, 1 Other Minority - Usually Asian, 1 Gay, 1 Emoish Type and 1 Alcoholic. I have no idea how many people are actually on the show, but that's close enough.

That seems a little bit harsh to the OP. As to the "degrees of gayness," Kinsey proposed a sliding scale that seems to be both accepted and rejected depending who you ask, but it's a concept that is pretty commonly accepted by scientific, er...laymen, and I agree with you there.

As far as cricisms of dudes for their feelings goes, I don't particularly like watching gay people make out, or hearing it. That doesn't make someone a homophobe or hater or anything; it's an instinctual thing that comes before judgment and decision making. These things are biological, not political.

I've shared apartments and rooms with gay guys, and had tons of gay friends(Los Angeles), but that doesn't mean I'm not going to have an instinctive "ewww...yuck!" factor. It's only human, and probably a lot more people have it by far than don't. Just like some gay guys have told me they're not just disinterested in but turned off by the idea of hetero sex.

As to whether you can control a t.v. show, of course you can't. But, the people making them know full well they'll gross out most of their viewers by showing gay make-out sessions -- especially male ones. That's not really arguable. How big a deal it is, is up to the viewers, I guess. If the makers of the program guess wrong on that, there are always market forces to let them know.

She left the room after a few minutes and I just wanted to turn Oprah or whatever the [censored] she was watching off so I hot the "last" button and it went back to MTV. I didn't even look to see what I had turned to and just kept playing with my kids. Well then my wife comes back in the room and is like WTF? Sine when do you watch MTV? This was the first time my TV has been on MTV for more than 1 second in probably 10 years.

If you can imagine the most macho person that ever lived and put that person way over there on the left. Now imagine the most effeminate person, and put them over on the right. Now draw a line joining the two.

EVERYONE appears on that line somewhere, between hard and masculine and soft and feminine. Their position may change every now and then depending on circumstances and you will find people of the opposite sex on both sides of you. But there is no 'line in the sand'.

And macho and effeminate don't really have a necessary correlation to gay or straight. Lots of gays and people panicked about their sexuality are heavily into being macho. And I guess we can say that the real flaming effeminate guys are pretty certainly gays, but I think a lot of that is for show, and even most of them aren't like that all the time. It's probably not too reliable to just think a guy who seems effeminate is gay or not gay. I've seen guys who act super-fruity who are straight, and I know I've seen lots of gay guys who don't mince around and who you would never know are gay.

Actually, I've known a few girls who said they thought guy on guy was hot, and said it was just like we think girl on girl is hot. One girl I know even arranged a girl-party with her friends where they hired two male "entertainers" to come dance for them and then bone each other in the living room while they watched.
