View Full Version : Help Me Name My Company

Where better to contact the intelligent people of the world than the OOT forum?

I am in the process of acquiring a marketing business. We will be doing soup-to-nuts marketing, which will include everything from direct mail, telemarketing, and internet advertising all the way to TV and radio.

I will have 20-30 employees. The office will be located in Clearwater, but will handle accounts from all over the country. I have six accounts in place, including dating services, travel clubs, and mortgage companies. I could have five more immediately, if I thought I could handle the workload, so expansion is inevitable.

I will need a name. I am open to anything that works, but am against anything that sounds too "AllComm"-ish, if you know what I'm saying.

If possible, I'd like some serious responses here.

Help me, OOT!!

Contrary to popular belief, I still have a SOUL to consider, thank you very much.

When my spirit was tied to a volcano by the aliens back before the Proton-7 Revolution, I thought I'd NEVER get to vacation in Bermuda..."

This is such a shock coming from you, Jake. I expected some really sincere, constructive assistance.

You're right. The thirty seconds it took me to type in the question was a monumental waste of time. I definitely should have spent the time slagging Hellmuth, Esfandiari, or Negreanu in the WPT Forum, or discussing anal sex right here in the OOT, or maybe the nervous systems of marine life, I don't know.

I have twenty-plus years in marketing and marketing management. One thing I learned a long time ago is that you'd be very surprised where you might find good material, be it ideas or other talent.

Thank you for your valuable input.

If You Thought Tender Crisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch Was Catchy, Just Wait Until You See What We Can Make Hootie Do Inc.

Tender Catchy Wait Do Inc. for short

Or, you can do Kokopelli Marketing. Kokopelli is the ancient Hopi Indian God of powerful communication and fertility. But you can leave the fertility out of the brochure.

Of course, Hermes is probably a God more people have heard of, and he is basically communication too since he was the messenger. Mercury = Hermes.

Other Gods of Communication:

Thoth (God of knowledge and communication)
Eshu-Elegbara (God of communication and spiritual language)

Maybe just "THOR," with no fancy-shmancy words around it. It could be an acronym for TeleHouseholdOmniRespresentatives.

Rushmore,
Here are some off the top of my head. I will come back to this thread later though (this is a fun little creative exercise.) I am writing these after skimming the thread, sorry if I am repeating someone elses idea, credit them if its a good one. Also, I am sure that some of these have already been copywritten (is that a word?):

my favorite so far:

(also Drunk Horse Marketing but I am not sure if you want to take the risk of the negative connotation of Drunk, then again doesn't a lot of good marketing take risks?...)

More to follow; let me know if any of these are on the right track.
