There was an all in raise here. I figured at first it was an easy Ax desperate move. Maybe PP. So when there's a caller after I still think I'm okay with my JJ. I feel even better when there are more callers after me. Last time this happened, I flopped a set.

So the turn comes around and after an all in raise I fold. Was I right to do so?

Folding is right IMO.

No it didn't. I was asking about folding on the flop. The results mean diddly after the flop. It's easy to give advice once one sees how it played out. That's not what I'm looking for.

I've learned this the hard way. Once this flop comes, your hand has become VERY weak. Sure sometimes you have the best hand here, sometimes you don't. Small edge, early rounds. What were you hoping we'd say. Yeah, push, you prolly got the nuts!

This hand isn't horrible. One ace would be a lot worse than 2 aces due to the two pair threats out there and the fact that there would be more aces left in the deck.

That said, I believe folding to be the correct play because of the number of people in pot, the dry side pot, and likelihood of someone playing an ace (QQ6 is easier to move-in with), plus the strength one's supposed to have betting out into a field there.

I think you should think about reraising preflop. JJ isn't a great hand, but I think this is a good spot to get some dead money in with a hand that certainly has MP3 beaten. A nice raise to t300-t400, or all-in might work here, (but then you'd be committed postflop). t250+ in the pot is worth fighting for, especially since everyone is so short-stacked compared to you.

All-in preflop. No reason at all to think QQ-AA is out there.

PREFLOP
Raise the standard amount for that table/level/stake. Don't turn your Jacks into 6's. If you're going to call a raise anyway, be the aggressor.

POSTFLOP
Teaser bet postflop about 40% of the pot. Fold to any raise. If smooth-called, do not put a penny more into the pot unless you hit a Jack.

If nobody has it, you usually take the pot down right there. If someone has it, you find out quickly enough and have the chips to fight another hand.
