Modaddy,

I think I play it the same way and then get really annoyed when it would have worked out.

I don't remember who said it but you want to draw to the nuts after the flop.

You are not drawing to the nuts...so you fold.

Don't sweat it.

I'd have bet out on the turn. You're representing a made boat, so drawing hands like QJT or 24 should fold. you might get a 23 to fold, and should get hands like AJxx to fold.

If they call, you have flush, A, and 2 outs and might even have the best hand now if for example they had the hands they actually did. Depending on how you count, you probably have ~8-10 scoop outs here against most hands, and will find out on the cheap street if someone has a monster.

RAISE PREFLOP.

why wait for hands with back-up if you are not going to use them? You still have second nut lose draw and a flush draw, at least call the turn and the river if it is a low card.

I would not raise as a a default play UTG with a hand thats plays very well multi-way but merely good heads up. If you’re sure you’ll get 3-4 callers then go ahead and raise. If calling will get you 5 opponents while raising will get you 2 then calling is the better play.

I'm raising preflop--it's party, you'll get callers. On the flop, you do have a low draw. 2nd nut isn't always a loser. I'm calling that turn, low is still live. And then on the river, get as much money in as possible.

Raise. Preflop. I would rather have 2 callers who paid 2 bets to get in than 4 callers who paid one bet each to get in. Mainly because not raising this preflop makes me physically sick anyway.

You are right you will get callers but the question is how many. 3 callers putting in 2 bets is worse then 6 callers putting in 1 bet.

Can you please explain this further? I would much rather have 4 callers that pay 1 bet then 2 callers that pay 2. I want that for 2 reasons:
1) You are putting 1/2 as much money in
2) You are going to be drawing for the nuts so 4 callers equals more people to pay you off if they hit the 2nd best hand.

Can you please elaborate on why you would rather play A2 short handed?
