I know why it's important to increase the blinds in tournaments as time goes on, but I have a couple groups of friends who just don't get it. We end up either never increasing the blinds, or they come up with stuff like adding a little bit to both blinds after each elimination (we start with less than a full table), so blinds end up being something like 50 for the SB and 60 for the BB. I have a lot of trouble explaining to them why this is a bad idea, however. I suppose I'm just not very good at explaining things. Could anyone link me to any posts or articles that explain why blinds should be increased and why the common type of schedule should be used?
