i actually like this question, because ive always found it difficult to read asians, especially ones that dont speak english very well. its hard for me to estimate their level of intelligence and their level of thinking, which can prove aggrivating. you can often understand the intentions of a person of similiar traits; whether they are here to win, here to gamble, here to have fun, here to learn, etc. with an asian, i cant do that until after ive played enough with them.

Hi Tek,

My conjecture on this question may be viewed as too stereotypical, but it sures seems right on from my experience in LA casinos.

The more "old country" (freshly immigrated from the Far East) the male Asian player is, the more "gamble" he has in him. Therefore, the majority of the time, I tend to put them on weaker hands (J6s, A7o, etc.) when they limp. They also have more of a tendency to make a move on you on the turn with nothing. The more Americanized male Asian players (2nd generation and beyond) tend to be more educated in poker theory and correct play.
