What's with the min-raise? If I were the big-stacked BB, I would not just call you, but I would come down hard on your ass. (depending on read, natch) At least get 3X BB in there, maybe four.

Bet the pot (at least) on the flop. You've got "running scared" tattooed on your forehead with these plays. With these medium-small bets, you are just creating stomach-churning decisions.

Let's say you raised to 4XBB and still got called. On the flop, push. See? Less ulcers that way!

yeah Val is right here it's a push or fold preflop...I like fold.

Quit min raising. Quit messing with the big stacks. Quit playing marginal hands out of position(referring to your other posts). That should get you started on the right track.

I was playing horrible last night. That is why I am posting these, so I can be berated into playing correctly again. I could not get much going and all I kept getting were marginal that hands that I played horribly....

If its any consolation, several months I ago I was playing great and running good. Then I went card dead and thought I could play like Gus Hanson. Needless to say my bankroll took a hit. I've since tightened up and am back on track. It sucks when you don't get good hands for awhile but it happens to everyone and if you start playing them it only makes matters worse.

I respect check-raises. I certainly fold my middle pair there.

Even a check min-raise from a stack that big?

Hero should mini-raise if he wants to get called. Or he is setting up a move for later (like mini-raising and folding here).

Ok...now what to do next.

I call the raise and the 8 /images/graemlins/heart.gif shows up.

Now what?

If he checks to me? I probably push.

If he bets into me any non-trivial amount, I probably fold. He clearly likes his hand and 14 outs is like 25-30% to improve.

I don't like 1/4 to win, even if there is ~1650 in the pot now. I take my 900 in chips and start stealing, trying to steer clear of the monster chip stack against whom I have 0 fold equity.
