I was reading the latest Cardplayer and came across Robert V. mentioning Hawaii Hi/Low and it being spread now in AC/MS, I could not find any details on this game via google, who can fill us in on the rules, please?

TIA!

It is not one of the 900+ variants I have on record, but I did dig up a site listing "Hawaii Five-Low," with is five card stud lowball with the last card down. Maybe it's five stud, last card down, high/low?

Anyway, thanks for asking, because in searching for it I found a website with yet more variants I don't know of!

Hi,

I found this link giving the complete description.

http://press.trumpmarina.com/upload/hawaii_hilo.pdf

From reading it, I assume it is more of a poker influenced casino game rather than a pure playing poker against other players type of game.

Thanks, that is probably it, another high house edge game, no doubt.

I have come across this game. If my memory serves correctly it is five card stud with the final card down. All five cards count for the high but only the down cards count for low. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
