Mushrooms are gross, but I LOVE tuna w/ mayo. Chinese food was a phase for me, but I prefer better sushi and thai for asian cuisine.

My food list is pretty much the same. There's stuff I eat now that I just hadn't ever discovered as a kid, but nothing that I like that I didn't used to or vice versa. I guess I don't like PB&J and I used to but that's about it.

Eggs.

In 1st grade someone brought hard boiled eggs in for the class. I ate one and it made me sick. For years I could not stand the smell of eggs without getting nauseous. After a while, as a teenager, I was able to stand scrambled eggs. Now I eat a dozen or two a week, either sunnyside up or deviled (this thanks to OOT).

I know, I'm like the worst college kid ever. The only food that bothers me as much as either of those are Combos, which are these weird snacks where they put this flavored paste inside a pretzel log. I can't even handle the smell of those things, but I never liked them, so they don't make the cut.

I give up, what is this?

Never mind:

Mexican Horchata
A refreshing cold drink made of rice, almonds, cinnamon (canella), lime zest and sugar. This drink is rumored to be a cure for a hangover and is frequently served at breakfast time. Even though the drink has a milky appearance it is completely dairy-free.

As a child oddly enough I didn't like chocolate in any form except for chocolate candy (like a Hershey bar). Now I am still not fond of chocolate ice cream, but chocolate cake, cookies, pudding, etc., are fine--except that I am no longer allowed to eat most of those things. I also didn't like any kind of pudding or custard, but now I like chocolate pudding and the various flavors of custard pie fillings (but can't eat them either). No tapioca, rice, or bread pudding though. I hated all kinds of eggs, but now will eat omelets, and scrambled and hardboiled eggs, albeit without much enthusiasm. No fried, soft-boiled, sunnyside up or down, or poached. Hated hot dogs then, don't like them now. Didn't like any kind of beans, except string beans, and still don't.

Also hated then and now:

milk
hot and cold cereal

liked then and now:

almost all vegetables
liver (calf only)

liked then, hate now:

bananas

My whole childhood I hated mustard -- you know, the type common here in the USA: glow-in-the-dark yellow, loaded with tumeric, available everywhere.

Then in my early 20s, someone gave me a sample of a stone ground "real" mustard. It was delicious. Now I really enjoy a nice, true mustard. The yellow garbage otherwise known as "tumeric spread" is not welcome on my food.

If I had to choose between the three, at the same cost, it would go:

1. Mustard
2. Lobster
3. Steak

But if I had to choose between the 3 to eat for the rest of my life it would be the opposite.

BTW, finally saw Team America (hence my lack of posting for the last 1.5 hours) and it is brilliant. Please bring back Kim Jung Il as your avatar as he is the funniest character in any movie ever.

Used to hate:

Beets -- made me literally start wretching just to smell them
Eggplant -- made me start wretching when trying to eat it
Cooked carrots -- barf reflex again, especially in butter
Creamed vegetables -- barf reflex again, any vegetable
Anchovies -- horrible
Custard
Candy Corn
Butterscotch
Calf liver -- almost unstoppable puke response
Gefilte fish -- gross
Pigs knuckles -- this is so gross it's depraved
Tripe -- you just be f_cking kidding me; why not just eat the rectums
Squid/octopus -- it tastes EXACTLY like you think it will
canned spinach -- loved it fresh, though; canned is just freaky bad
meat loaf -- never had it made by a good cook
creamed/chipped beef -- prisoner food, sour, gloppy and gross
oatmeal -- this isn't even food, it's edible spackle
dates
sardines
oysters

Didn't like much:

crab

Still hate:

Calf liver
Gefilte fish
Pigs Knuckles
Tripe
Squid/octopus
canned spinach
creamed/chipped beef

Still not fond of:

Beets
Creamed vegetables
Anchovies
Candy Corn
Butterscotch
oatmeal
dates
sardines
oysters

Now actually like a lot:

Eggplant
crab
