- Every sitcom episode featuring alcohol involves the character having one or two drinks max, then proceeding to act like a drunken buffoon.

This is singlehandedly responsible for everyone viewing Americans as sissies who can't hold their drink.

Sitcoms are only 22 minutes. Anyway, when I think of drunks on T.V. its Tom Hanks playing uncle Ned on Family Ties. He's so desperate, he has to raid the pantry for some vanilla extract.

A friggin' hippy house, and there's not even wine?

the Drew Carey Show either featured or implied that Drew's friends would actually drink many drinks... and then act like drunken bufoons.

I always hated in those family sitcoms when someone would spike the punch, and then someone who had never drank before would get out of control, and start saying "wow, this punch is really good" har har, they don't know it's got booze in it. Wouldn't they taste it? I'm thinking of that episode of Family Matters where Eurkell almost falls off a building top.

Wha?

Oski - it has nothing to do with the length of the program. They could show someone sit down with 12 cans or whatever, and show them sat next to the empties later. Instead, it's typically one empty glass of wine and a noisy idiot.

Commercials. Lack of funny. The overall quality of shows is pretty crappy now.

it bugs me that every show/movie/sport is not ondemand right now. we have dvr yes, but if i want to sit down and watch every episode of family guy from start to finish i should be able to.

it bugs me that i cant hook up a zip drive to my dvr and have infinite recording space.

it bugs me that every cable company has monopolized their entire district. the only way to compete with these companies is through satellite.

it bugs me that i cant sit down and digest television 24hours a day without wasting my life.

it bugs me that junkies like ryan seacrest enter the walk of fame, when he did nothing to deserve it.

it bugs me that you cant tell your television to censor curse words or uncensor curse words. we should be able to listen to every swear word we want to without having to hear a beep.

it bugs me that i will never have sex with genevieve gorder or amy wynn from trading spaces.

No...I couldn't tell you who MA's senator is either and that's my home state. There is nothing that I stay away from more than politics, because it is far to easy to get people to dislike you if you don't, in my experience.

That is to say, having an opinion is evil.

--Every sit-com is based on deception: "Now Opie, don't let Aint Bea find out...", or, "Ethel, we've got to get this done before Ricky gets home," or, "I was supposed to feed his/her fish while he/she was out of town, and now the fish died, so I need to find a look-alike fish before he/she gets back..."

--Every grocery bag has a fancy stick of bread sticking out.

--"Becker" has been on for about ten years, and no one I know has ever watched an episode.
