Speaker stands

Just moved into a new place and have nowhere to put up my front speakers for my modest surround sound setup. looking for something as cheap as possible to elevate the speakers with an 8" by 8" base, say, 20"-24" off the ground. Checked the local thrift stores and salvation army, no dice. don't want to spend fifty dollars elevating a pair of speakers worth probably eight bucks. any suggestions?

If you know how to weld, its incredibly easy (and cheap) to make ure own.

If you dont know how, and money is an issue, you can go pure ghetto college style and just use cinder block /images/graemlins/smile.gif
