What is the 1st album or cd you ever bought? It has to be one you actually went out and purchased yourself because you just HAD to have that song. Your parents records that were passed on to you don't count. Niether does downloading music for those of you who are young enough to have no idea how great listening to music on vinyl was.

My 1st album was Tattoo You by the Rolling Stones

I was 12 and I bought The Chronic. So much for parental advisory sticker. I was under the impression that the CD was exactly like the music video. When I got home I put in our stereo and within 2 seconds I realized they said fvck and the "N" word. I was totally shocked, my mom came running into the living room asking me what the hell was going on. She was pretty cool about it though, I was allowed to listed to it in my room and a reasonable volume. She was afraid our neighbors might think I was saying the "N" word

Pearl Jam- Ten

It was the album that turned me from a "hearer" to a "listener". I used to hear music as not much more than some good sounds. After Ten I listened and really began to understand music. Since then I've learned to play five instruments, read music, sing music, and write music. I credit it all to that album.

Led Zeppelin I did something similar for me. After hearing it I decided to take a risk and buy a blues album by BB King and I have been a die hard blues fan ever since. It would have lead me to playing guitar as well but a handicap keps me from toturing the world with my musical stylings... Probably a good thing for the ears of those close to me /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Music took on a whole new meaning for me after that album. I picked up a guitar after that album and taught myself. Then, after RATM's first CD, I picked up a bass. Commerford's bass lines were amazing. Then music became an addiction.

First CD - Hootie and the Blowfish Cracked Rear View
Second CD - Mariah Carey (I think Fantasy was the album name)
