What sort of VPIP should I be shooting for in 6max and full games for loose low limit games on party? I am new to this game, and preflop there are a few hands I am not sure if it worth playing. Am running at 30% VPIP from 1/2 6 max fwiw.

Hi Partygirl...taking a little break from Hold Em?

Take a look at those threads Gooper mentioned. It seems we talk about this every week or so.

When I look at the pokertracker numbers, there seems to be conflicting numbers on correlation between success and VPIP.

I have winning numbers and have gotten my VPIP down to 24, but gotten my Won $SD up to 68%. That's the real key as far as I can see. I'm getting away from hands that are costing me money before they cost me a lot of bets.

But some of the biggest winners in my database (short term, maybe 200 hands) have VPIPs of more than 70.

One common mistake that I see is trying to bring Hold Em aggression (I've seen a lot of your HE posts) to an Omaha game. That just doesn't seem to work.

When people have the nuts or have good odds to draw to the nuts...you're not knocking them out.

Having a lower VPIP makes it much easier to play more than one table. I don't think I could play more than one table if my VPIP was that high.

Good luck.
