I'm looking to find ways to never go outside when I want a break from poker, but I am years out of the loop on what the hot tickets are these days.
I used to play Age of Empires and the like if that helps.

Halflife 2.

Or perhaps AoE 2 and 3?

I played some of the first Warcraft back in college.
Does the newest version rock or what?

Lets just say people get divorced/lose girlfriends over that game. Some of those people are in this forum. Considering your goal is to never go outside, I have a feeling you will like it very much.

I stopped playing WoW when I picked up poker about 2.5 months ago. Seriously, the only time I have even logged on was to see how the game looked on my new 20.1" LCD. I was a level 55 hunter and it just got too repetitive.

It's a little old now, but Diablo II: LOD was amazing.

I lost 15 lbs. by playing it for a month straight besides sleep. Although I'm sure it was all muscle mass.

AoE 3 isn't even out yet dude.

But yah, AoE 2 w/ expansions, AOM, warcraft, starcraft, and AoE3 when it comes out later this year are all good options.

I still love Counter-Strike. StarCraft is another cheap classic.

PlayStation 2 and any Final Fantasy game (except X-2). It's not a computer game but you'll be hooked in a blink.

Rome: Total War
Very cool game
good city building
great battles <- new graphics engine is fantastic 1000+ troop armys, each soldier 3d rendered, siege battles doen very well
deep game
15-20 different countries to play as

If you like AoE. You might look into Rise of Nations, Rome Total War, or Warcraft 3.

I would suggest WoW if you have a lot of time to spend on it. I have not played it for a month, and I am alrigh with that. I might start playing again soon. But i doubt it.

I was just going to say that I just got Empire Earth 2 and I'm actually quite disappointed. It does have a lot of cool features, but I don't like the way the game plays. It looks so good on paper and it's got so much potential, but it doesn't live up to it. The battles aren't that interesting, and it's hard to tell the difference between a lot of units. I hate how little of the map you can see at one time, yet at the same time I can't tell the difference between some of my units. I'd rather play AoE II. I can't wait for AoE III.

Age of Mythology (if you like Age of Empires).

Counter-strike still rocks.

I've been playing it since BETA 5.2
Failed out of university once because of it.
(I got back in, though)
