+EV video poker is pretty rare outside of Vegas (and I think it's getting harder to find there). For most pay tables, correct strategy will reduce your losses, but not allow you to beat the game. +EV machines are generally only available in Quarters, which don't give you a very good hourly rate ($10/hr with extremely fast, perfect play, less than that for most people).

And high variance as well--most of your winrate is based upon hitting that royal jackpot once in a while. If you hit a dry spell you could be in bad shape.
