First hand of a $11. Did I raise too much?

nop, I'd personally raise it to 60'ish maybge even 75.
However on the 10+1's people will advocate raising to 150, people WILL call with ace rag and lower pairs. The last thing you want is raising to 45 get 3 callers and if an Ace OR a King flops you know that you have to fold to any strength.

i would advocate limping (10+1). Not joking.

Thats just how i would play it though, i expect most would raise and they are correct too. Its just my style.

I thought about limping however I didnt want a situation where there were 3-4 limpers behind me and I end up letting in Ax and Kx's, forcing me to fold on a flop with an overcard. I'd definetly limp-raise with AA and probably KK in this spot, but I think QQ is too vulnerable here to do so.

Either limping or raising the amount you did is fine. I agree that the worst thing you can do is raise to t45 and get 5 or 6 callers. Some of those idiots will call your larger raise with A-junk and all kinds of other stuff that none of us would believe. Go ahead and charge them for it. Like I said, sometimes I'd limp too though.

on the elevens and twenty two's I'm hardly limping with QQ, JJ is marginal and TT I'll limp

Nice hand! I normally make it 75 but that's no big deal. I think limping here is aight too.

No you didn't. Raising to 70-150 is just fine with QQ at the $10s. The fact that you didn't get any callers or even someone with Axo raising you is what is more odd in this situation.

Your hand is too strong to simply limp (though I do understand the reasoning of those who advocate that...). I would rather take down the 25 chips in the blinds now than limp and be faced with an AKx flop and have to fold to any bet.

Limping creates problems for you as well on what can look like a favorable flop if you don't raise preflop.

I really don't like limping with QQ (unless it's down to 3 or less maybe). Bet it and make folks pay to catch up to you.

Just my $0.02.
