Busted out in 9th, made 33$ in a 2$ buy-in. 20$ more for each position until 6th and then it starts going up quickly until first who makes 560$. I was playing for 1st, not to make 20-40$ more...

What's your opinion of the way I played this hand?

I'm guessing it's not a bad beat, he was up against a bigger pair right from the start. With two re-raises I'm going to put someone on AA or KK quite frequently. My best case scenario is a race against AK. I think I'd lay it down when the action came back to me. Then again, this is a $2 tourney so I have no clue what kinds of hands people play.

If I were going to play, I'd simply call the raise and not push pre-flop. The MP player will certainly call you if you push. If you call and flop an overpair, I'd push. If you call and an A or K hits the flop, I'd check fold giving the guy credit since he's going to have to show down the hand with the pre-flop all-in.

I didn't consider just calling, because it would leave me with about 35k of chips, with the blinds at 6000/12000, I'm pot committed and the money's going in on the flop even if overcards fell. I thought about folding, which would have left me with 120k and a fighting chance, but as I said, I wasn't playing for a few more spot making 20-40$ more, the real money started at 5 and I was playing to win the 560$ first prize, so I took a gamble.

I was just wondering how bad a gamble it was...
