Pwned tonight by the Blue Jays.

72 K, 7 BB, 7 HR on the season.

How can a man who has such a good K/BB give up so many shots?

Hitters know the ball is going to be in the strike zone an thrown hard.

It's not like he has the best change up in the majors or anything...

I don't know about Johan, but Garland went another strong 7 tonight.

He and Bedard have been the best 2 SP in the AL so far, IMO.

Dynasty,

You got owned by a 14 year old. I suggest you cut your losses and stop posting on baseball.

Well, the simple answer is that they're all 3 separate "skills."

Another thing is that a HR/9 of around 1.00 is not exactly high, nor do they hurt him that much, considering his high strikeout totals and low walk totals.

Variance. This type of stat is the outlier.

Still one of the top 5 starters in the league, and nobody would say they wouldn't want him...especially guys like the Yanks.

Wrong. Santana's HR Rate, historically, is around 1.00/9 IP, the same as it is this year.

Well, this isn't surprising...I misread the OP...my bad...been a long day. Then again, today's outing against the Jays isn't helping his stats at all, and that's what I had in mind when I made my post and misread the first one....good catch.
