Can't say for sure, but I know it's a conscious business decision by Party. I bet they're worried about players overextending their rolls and busting out (which is easy to do in 6max), cutting into the total rake. The 1/2 - 5/10 jump seems to naturally deter this sort of problem.

PokerStars will let you play shorthanded 2/4 and 3/6, if you didn't know.

The common assumption is that 2/4 and 3/6 allow a fish to bust out quicker without generating significantly more rake. 5/10 allows them to pay more rake while busting out faster.

edit: When I was playing 1/2, I would constantly see some of my buddies on 5/10 tables. If the gap is there to prohibit the jump, I don't think it does a great job.

Stop deluding yourself. Everyone except you seems to understand that they're just too lazy to hire another service professional /images/graemlins/cool.gif.

To make you go out and look only to find out that PP doesn't have a monopoly on the short handed fish. Honestly, both stars and UB have some good 2/4 and 3/6 6-max games.
