title says it all. 49 left, average about 17K. im short, but really only one double up away from being ok. is this avoidable. By the way, UTG+1 has pulled this open limp 2 other times, both times with middle pocket pair. Converter not working.

Do I just push preflop? is there anyone here who could fold to that flop?

push or fold preflop, you took the worst option by far. I'd push btw.

Thanks, and I do agree. I wasn't to happy with the way I did play that hand. Been in a slump lately, poor plays like that don't help.

I don't like your play on the flop either. I don't see how any hand that beats yours is folding, nor do I see how any hand you beat is calling. Give someone else a chance to bet at this pot. I know it is big, but if you check, someone bets, some else goes AI... you can safely fold. If you check and a mid-pos. player bets... you can strongly consider folding (I'm a fish, I call) If you check, a late pos. player bets, you can push or call. The way you played it shuts your eyes to any evidence you might pick up that you are not winning and also closes down the pot to anyone wishing to donate to the "Praise Raja" foundation. Keep the pot open for donations.

I don't think you're really suggesting folding, right? Isn't he in the BB and just checking.

I think this is great advice. Too often we immediately think we need to protect our hand since it's not a monster. But in this case, what are you protecting against? There are absolutely no draws and checking, as CSC says, gives you lots of information and allows someone to bluff at the pot.

This line makes alot of sense if im not going to push preflop. A check after the flop maybe could of made my decision alot easier like you said. I should of known better, Top pair is rarely good vs. 4 limpers.

I do like pushing PF but I doubt the results are different /images/graemlins/frown.gif

had I checked I probably also go broke.

"Don't go broke in an unraised pot" is a quote that assumes much deeper stacks than what we have here. You had 7 BBs at the start of the hand and 6 left to work with after posting; I disagree with anybody that says you can get away from this postflop.

Having said that, I push preflop.

to echo the masses: i like a pre-flop push. once you see the flop, the only question is whether you want to check-call all-in (unless there is an avalanche of a-i's) or push yourself. i think checking is a little better. it's pretty unlikely a free card will hurt you here.

Tough spot. I'm pushing preflop here while you still have some folding equity. That said, you have a great flop. No flush/straight draws to concern you here, no overs but one so why not have someone bet the hand for you? Someone moves in, I go broke. You are too short to play it any other way.
