hi there,

playing in a 100 runner no limit tournry, BLINDS 50-100
my stack 4700,60players left.
i raise UTG 400 9 handed table, all fold except BB
WHO calls, flop Kd Qd 3c, BB checks i bet 1000, leaving me
3200, he reraises 3000, as i know him to be a pretty solid
type, i ponder this through and then pass.

i would be grateful for all comments regarding this play.

good flops for all

Well, it feels a bit like AK. If he's a solid player like you said, he's likely re-raising with KK and possibly QQ. Cold calling your UTG raise would be in line with AK as well. I don't think he cold called an UTG raise with KQ, JdTd or 33 unless he sees you as a loose player and he has a fairly large stack.

So, I'd read it as AK or QQ, with the former being more likely. It would be interesting to know his stack size.

There are many variables that make it impossible for me to say if it is correct or not. Most are player dependent and how your opponent feels you play and what range of hands he could have you on based on the UTG raise.

Obviously a check-raise all-in vs a pre-flop raiser is a strong play. It normally means they can beat top pair ( ie. 2 pair or set). But some players might do this with a strong draw or top pair. If you have the Ace of diamonds it lessens the likelyhood they are on a flush draw but even that is still possible.
