View Full Version : Someone want to rate/review my bubble play here? Kinda long...

Here is a recent bubble match which I think i may have played poorly, but honestly I'm not too sure. Be sure to note the 77 hand and my fold there.

Am I too freaking weak? Any push with any two spots?

You fold 77 and A7 to short stack to lose all your chips with A5 to the big stack. For me K8 UTG was also a push.

You are right, that heads up play pretty much sucked.

Next time dont sit there waiting for someone to go out. You need to get in there and take those chips. All you needed to do was 2-3 good blind steals and you were at 2000+ in a good possition.

Yeah I am usually uber aggressive in these things, I don't know why I tightened up so much on this one.

I guess I felt like I had something to prove?

I really need to turn player chat off.

Meh.

Player chat? My God man! No! Player chat is okay if you are sitting there hours on end with nothing to do because you cant talk on AIM because you have no friends like me, but letting it effect your play? No!

Taking all their chips without a show down would be proof enough...not sure what you wanted to prove but it's okay.

The K10 UTG I push, The K8 UTG I probably push. I also hope that the short stacks don't survive like 10 all ins which happened here and that the big stack is absolutely clueless and plays super tight unlike the way this guy played it. You can't win them all, this was fairly well played by the others and throw in some luck for them and not you and it was a tough one.

my only thoughts might be that you need to establish yourself a little more 5 handed with steals so that others are more scared to raise into you. You do have a nice stack though which makes me think you may have been getting in there and mixing it up then too though?

I would have called with the 7s. And add a few steals in there with K8 and the K10. Other than that. You didn't get anything to steal with. If you would have called with the 7s you would either be basically out, or you would be in great position for 1st. I like that trade.

Like everyone else is saying. Push KT/K8, call with 77 and muck A5o.

77 is an easy call. Btw I think that the biggest weakness of 2+2'ers who are looking to improve their game, is that they don't call enough. Maybe too much stuff about fold equity is stressed and people take it way overboard, especially late.

I'm assuming you would have pushed 77 and A7 had shortstack not been all-in but not K8 since you folded KT a few hands earlier? I'm no bubble expert by any means but at least in this sequence it appears you're respecting raises to much. I don't know if the A5 push was because you were just tired of laying down pushing hands, but I think in this instance with the big stack playing significantly tighter than he should be I'm avoiding him with a lot of hands.

Why is a call better than a re-raise push? just wondering the line of thinking for this play.
