My grandma's house looked about the same, and she was NUTS. Sweet lady, and all, but an absolute lunatic with the way she "saved" junk. I'm glad there was no Ebay when she was alive.

what would happen if he just started grabbing things, throwing them into the back yard, and setting them on fire?

I know a lady with a house just like this.

In her defense though she has some medical condition and is heavily drugged up.

There was an Oprah on this disorder a couple weeks ago. Fascinating (and scary) stuff. Apparently it's an offshoot of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and people do it for various reasons: fear of discarding parts of their life, fear of throwing something away and needing it at a future time, fear of losing proprietary control of stuff they own, fear of wasting an object's use, etc. -- I guess in a counterproductive manner it gives daily affirmation that their life has meaning.

Please don't discard my post. If you don't want it, I'll just put it in the closet with the others.

i once delivered furniture, and we happened upon a house we were to deliver a setee to. we go to the front door and knock, and a voice yells at us to go around back, so we do. we are let in and told to place the setee on top of huge neatly stacked newspapers and magazines because there was no other place to put it...full of a bunch of crap just like this one.

cheers!

I used to go to a lot of estate sales. I went to one in a big two-story house that looked just like that, except about half the stuff was unopened. She was a QVC/HSN junkie that died and her kids were selling all this brand new stuff for pennies on the dollar. She had several of a lot of items. Crazy crazy lady.

That's wild. I didn't read all the commentary, just scrolled through the pictures. I'd say start re-selling it on ebay, but she'd probably be the buyer!
