I'm new to the site and somewhat new to the game. I've been playing hold'em for a while with friends but a couple of months ago made the jump to the casino's. I've been playing low-limit stuff, 3-6, 4-8, and have done really well, thanks to some patience and going through all the poker material in the bookstore.

I've got a lot of strategy down pretty well, but have hit an area I'm not all that good at. I don't seem to pick up on tells and can't read hands all that well either. I can read bets okay, but in the low limit stuff people seem to bet so sparatically that I don't count on that all that much.

The punchline is...Is there some material out there I should be looking at? Is Mike Caro really the man, and is it worth 65 bucks to track down an out-of-print copy of his book? And what is my next step after learning all my starting hands, what to bet each round, and pot odds?

You should be able to order Caro's book here on 2+2 or on cardplayer.com

I strongly suggest the tapes over the book..Which I have.
Quite simply your getting tells in motion which they are and not static tells that are in the books..
Also some individauls will have greater difficulty mastering tells and reading skills then others..That being said just be patient and work that much harder in between hands your not involved in..
