Use a slightly damp cloth (Not a rough one). Do not use any cleaning solvents.

Staples brand LCD cleaner. Costs about $10 for a 4oz bottle and comes with microfiber wipes. Doesn't work too good.

I was wondering if it's worth it to get iKlear which MacAntosh sells. That costs about $20 for about the same size bottle (with wipes).

Use the Swiffer duster advertised on tv....cleans keyboard etc nice as well...if you often blow beer onto monitor like I do after some improbable suck out use Magic Rag...streak free using just water.

Try a used fabric softener sheet. It's like a dust magnet.

I found some non-static LCD cleaning wipes at Comp USA and these work great. Windex no goot!!!

You can find them here. (http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=310810&pfp=SEARCH)

I think alcohol (and also ammonia) is said to hurt the plastic screen of an LCD. Thats why they make special cleaning solutions. I don't know how true it is. But thats whats said.

Your steel wool is obviously too coarse a grade. Your only solution now is to carefully buff those marks out using a beltsander or angle grinder...(be sure to wear eye protection)

Oven cleaner also works on mine. Of course it is used in combination with steel wool. If the monitor happens to get to "fuzzy" I like to use the beltsander and angle grinder to clear it right up.

The ammonia in the windex could eat through the screen

[/ QUOTE ]the way I heard it, ammonia and/or alcohol makes the plastic brittle over time. How much time and after how many applications I don't know. I know MacIntosh Computer company which makes a lot of LCD screens recommend this special IKlear stuff for their screens.

Read the hype here. (http://iklear.klearscreen.com/faq.php)

Get an e-cloth. Best thing ever for sure. Pretty hard to find, but like anything these days, you'll probably find them on eBay.
