do you not cap the river? (edit: i mean 3 bet) i really thought it was a mistake.

I would go so far as to check-call the river, as at this point AQ is really the only hand you beat. tough break. I once lost this hand to a 90/45 maniac who had just previously capped all streets with J high... you should have seen the look on my face when he turned over AJ

At most I call the river raise -- no 3-bet from me. I might even just check/call there... AA seems unlikely based on 2 of them being out already, but still possible. AK seems highly likely. You could be up against QQ I suppose, but I'm not sure I see him playing much else this aggressively.

I think you should slow down when the king comes, but in the heat of battle I'd be jamming this pot up too

I would check/call the river like many of the other posters have said. I would doubt AA, so AK and AQ are likely. Since he 3-bet you preflop, given a typical opponent, I would rule out AJ and any lower ace. His turn perk-up smells like a strong ace, not QQ or KK.

So, if the river weren't a king or queen I would checkraise. Since it was one of the two, most likely filling his hand, a check-call seems right.
