This was a very excellent 2/4 game. UTG+2 and MP2 were both loose-passive guppies. MP3 seemed loose-aggressive at the time, at least preflop, but I didn't have a great read on his post-flop play, although I had realized by the time of this hand that his coldcall on the flop could mean a hand as weak as any two overcards.

Well, if you decided that you are calling here, the checkraise can't hurt. You would sure hate to beat the bettor and lose to pocket 7s, or T9.

If you are putting in 3 bets after the turn, why not do this on the turn?

This is a good question, and something I actually thought about after the hand was over. To be honest, I didn't give too much thought to checkraising the turn at the time, since I figured that UTG+1 was either planning to checkraise his own monster, or more likely, that he was going to coldcall with his crappy Jx, as he might have simply been scared to bet the turn due to either the board pairing and/or the strength I showed on the flop. Of course, if I was behind, the turn checkraise wouldn't be for value, especially since the turn took away outs to pair my three.

After the turn action, I figured I still needed to improve to win, although given UTG+1's passive play after my flop three-bet, and the fact that I believed that MP3 could have been flailing with overcards (or might possibly fold a hand like 99/88), I changed my river plan from checkfold to checkraise.

I don't get it. We have a passive UTG+2 raising the flop. Then I assume you feel aggressive MP3 is bluffing at the paired board when all the previous aggressors get shy?? So we C/R in hopes that UTG+2 will fold his TP and MP3 was indeed bluffing. Is my interpertation correct here.

If so, then half of me is saying, What the Hell let's take a shot at winning a big pot we are almost certain to lose otherwise. The other half is saying how am I ever going to get a passive (usually associated with calling station) to lay down TP in a big pot.
