Big stack is going nuts. Taking advantage of a short stack (utg) that keeps winning his blinds. Big guy has been all-in every single hand and doubled up the small stack twice with 87s and tjo.

Hero (1005 after posting SB of 250)
BB (830 after posting BB of 500)
UTG 900
UTG + 1 (4515)

The big blind hits me at the next change

UTG folds
UTG + 1 pushes
hero looks down and sees Ad 7s

any wisdom appreciated. Advice as well.

Fold, You are not in bad shape to make the money, and you want to be pushing not calling.

Fold. This is a perfect example of a situation where you aren't playing for first place anymore.

Exactly, you have to fold this. UTG is going to be crippled by the blind next hand. You are going to have to push into him with anything decent if Big Stack hasn't already.

This is a pretty easy fold.

Plugging the numbers into Eastbay's calc shows if he is pushing any two, you need 77+, ATs/AJo to call.
If he is actually folding some hands than obviously it only gets worse.

If he has even 10-8 off suit you are barely 3:2 favorite. 40% chance of finishing 4th?? Fold.

this is the advantage of having the big stack on the bubble. If you are the big stack, pushing any two helps you lock up first place.

I used to call this, but now fold. I was a stupid fish and still make many mistakes but not this one anymore. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
