My sport is swimming. 4 years of swimming. I think my best 50 time was a 26.high and my best 100 time was probably a 1:03 or something. Yeah, my best sport is swimming and I'm not even that great at it. But I can probably outswim 99.5% of 2+2rs and 95% of the population.

Maybe I'm just not remembering correctly, but I'm pretty sure something like sub 26 or around 25 got you to States, and I'm sure a 22 would have taken you to Nationals.

I did get scholarship offers, but health problems stopped me from going any further. I was rounding, i never got close to 22.0, best time was probably like 22.5. A time of 25 wouldn't even be close to qualifying for state, but i swam in Florida, one of the most competitive states for swimming, so maybe it is different. I would say you need to break 23 to qualify for states.

Swam a 25 second 50 and a 58 100 in HS and that wasnt even good for Southern California.

That was great. Mine is volleyball too. We were doing blocking drills at practice one day and I got matched up against our 6'9" middle who got to stand on a jump box across the net and I was supposed to block him. I jumped and pressed across the net, looked up and I saw that he had thrown the ball slightly over the net right before he bounced it off my face. It took me to the endline before I regained my balance. Hmm, this story doesn't make it sound like volleyball is my best sport does it? /images/graemlins/blush.gif

Football. I played 4 years in high school, and my college has full pad intermurals, so I still get to play.

Great choice, I'm sure you'll be playing that with your grand children in years to come.

swam the 100 in 50 flat, and did the 100 breast in 1:03 in HS. I played waterpolo from sixth grade through college. I'm probably one of the only waterpolo players here. I also surf but nowhere near the ability to get sponsored.

I wish it was meters, but no, yards. Um...If you're swimming a 22 in HS you should probably have gotten a scholarship to college and or done some serious training and looked at the olympics.

Maybe I'm just not remembering correctly, but I'm pretty sure something like sub 26 or around 25 got you to States, and I'm sure a 22 would have taken you to Nationals.

[/ QUOTE ]

i swam for 17 years, best 50 time was 22. i was varsity breaststroker for a D-1 team

p.s. 22 in high school is good, but not great or national level. to put that in perspective, we recuited a kid this year that goes 20.09 in high school.

I'm probably one of the skinniest hole guards to play the game. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif I'm 5'10 and in my playing days couldn't break 155lbs. I still play twice a week on the master's team.

BTW, I suck now.

MrWookie47

I wasn't exactly Hans or Franz myself, checking in at 6'3", 180 or so pounds. I played through high school, but I couldn't keep up varsity playing in college because I had way too much work. The coach was allegedly a dick, too. I did love playing in the intramural innertube water polo games we had, though. I got to be a super-champion! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Other than that, I've played in a couple of alumni games when I've gone back to my home town. Suck doesn't begin to describe my current ability.

Sweet. I assume it was a small school since you said D1 instead of a school's name. The only D1 basketball option I ever had was for a school I'd never ever consider going to.

i was a libero, and i thought i was pretty good, but yeah i've taken a few in the face from middles like you /images/graemlins/mad.gif

worst ever though was this time my coach Riley Salmon, who nows plays for the US pictured here (http://www.usavolleyball.org/VolleyballNews/news.asp?id=927), decided to play outside hitter on the other team i was on in practice

he hit a 4, and hit it to me, and me playing libero this was cross court, so you would expect i could avoid a headshot, but he hit the ball so fcuking hard all i had time to do was barely rotate my head so that the ball didn't hit me in the nose

it bounced off my face and then hit the ceiling, and the ceiling wasn't low, this guy is goot

Yes, it is. Used to play a lot, but now haven't played in years. Not a popular sport where I'm at and I think there's only like 1 place to play.

Ever play 3 wall? I lived in MI as a kid and played and it was always indoor (4 walls and a ceiling). In HS, we moved to FL and I got to play my first 3 wall (no partial ceiling). Much different game.

actually i was a "defensive specialist" too, they only officially had the libero position with the new substitution rules right after i last played, which sucked cause it would have been cool to be that guy with the cool jersey
