I am livid with myself right now. I really felt like he had the flush here. He was a pretty loose player. He was a good number of hands but not many got shown down. Not terribly aggro.

I read him for the flush but I was just thinking, how can I lay this down?

Thoughts, comments, snide remarks welcome.

Peace,

Joe

I saw someone go all in for 1800 on a board 4-8 straight. A bigger stack called with A9 and took the whole pot.

so the moral is, don't feel too bad about the call?

I think this Irish proverb sums up my view:

A trout in the pot is better than a salmon in the sea.

bet more on the flop - 125-150.

Since you didn't, and you got a call, you HAVE to bet more on this turn. I would bet the pot.

Since hero didn't do that, I think hero has to fold to the massive raise here. I would hate to do it though.

This is exactly why slowplaying is bad. "I hoped he would catch something but not this!".

/edit: I might have called though if I thought the guy would take something like AK/KQ all the way to the river and was a poor player in general.

I didnt have it in my notes, but this guy was vv bad

he called an all in on the flop early with ace high I believe. SO that's why I should have overbet the pot on the turn. If he calls that, I am going broke on the river.

Chuck lots of money at the pot on the flop and or turn. The way you played it you gotta fold to the river raise.
