Kind of bankroll needed for low limits

Well, I like to think myself as a pretty knowledgeable player, read some good books (i am here after all!), know a good amount of the game, and routinely hold my own when I play. I've been playing for about 2-3 years, and never really played THAT consistently because of my hesitancy of online games and casinos are far away. Ive played 2/4 once and 3/6 twice in casinos, big winner all three times, then lost some of it playing 4/8 another time. I have been playing .5/1 on PP the past weeks trying to plug some leaks and I think I'm ready to play a serious game. My problem is, I don't have a big bankroll I like to allocate to poker. I usually like to sit down with between 30 and 40 times the big bet at a limit game. So, I was thinking about dumping 400 into the PP account and two-tabling $2/$4. My brother told me this isnt near enough to handle the swings, so he made me second think and I just may play like $350 single tabling $2/$4. Any suggestions on what I should do?

generally, the advice is 20 buy-ins...so if you're playing NL $100, you should have a $2K roll.

err well I had a $900 bankroll lost buyins at 50nl till im down at 400 (no I wasn't on tilt) just BB and a few bad plays... Now im gonna drop to 25NL as i rebuild the wreckage /images/graemlins/smile.gif.
